Your Account
What It Is
Section titled “What It Is”The account page holds who you are to other people: your picture, your display name and the address they can find you at. Below that sits a row for each of the settings pages.
Your Picture
Section titled “Your Picture”Press the picture to get Choose Photo and Remove Avatar. The file is resized in your browser before it is sent, so a large photograph from a camera is fine.
Remove Avatar asks once, then leaves the account with no picture.
Your Name
Section titled “Your Name”The Display Name row opens Edit Display Name. This is the name other people see on your connections. Between two and one hundred characters.
It is not a login name and changing it breaks nothing.
Invitations
Section titled “Invitations”Invitations decides how connection invitations sent to you are accepted. The same two switches are in the app, and both places change the same setting.
Auto-accept connection invitations — when it is on, an invitation sent to your address is accepted without you opening it. Turning it on asks first, because anybody who knows your address can then create a connection with you. The first time you turn it on, Trusted senders only is turned on with it.
Trusted senders only — auto-accept applies only to people you already have a connection with. Turning it off asks every time.
Turning auto-accept off does not ask. A change is saved before the switch moves; if it could not be saved, the switch stays where it was and the page says so.
The Rows
Section titled “The Rows”Email Addresses — the addresses linked to this account, and which of them other people may use to find you.
Notifications — how each kind of message reaches you, across email, in-app and push.
AI API Keys — your own key from an AI provider, used by the Concierge.
Language — six languages. The choice is stored on the account, not in this browser, so the app and the portal agree on it.
Contact Me Settings — your personal connection address and whether it is open.
Signing Out
Section titled “Signing Out”Sign Out asks first. It sits directly under the identity row that opens this page, and the two costs are not the same: a wrong press on the identity row opens a page, a wrong press on Sign Out means signing in again. So the button opens a short dialogue, and Cancel, the Escape key and a press outside it all keep the session.
Signing out ends this browser session only. The mobile app and your other devices stay signed in.
Deleting the Account
Section titled “Deleting the Account”Delete Account is the last row and it is permanent. The dialogue says so: “This will permanently delete your account and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.”
To arm the button you type DELETE into the confirmation field. Then
Permanently Delete Account removes the account and signs you out.
Your data is encrypted so that only you can read it. There is no copy to restore afterwards, not for you and not for us. Export first if you want to keep anything.
Apple Private Relay
Section titled “Apple Private Relay”If your sign-in address is one of Apple’s relay addresses, an amber notice sits under your picture. Nobody can find you at a relay address, and some messages will not arrive. The notice opens the email page, where you can add a real address and mark it discoverable.
