API Tokens
What It Is
Section titled “What It Is”An API token lets a program you run act for your account: a CRM that checks a codeword, an assistant on your computer, a script. This page creates tokens, lists the tokens on your account and revokes them.
Creating a Token
Section titled “Creating a Token”New token asks for a name, what the token may do (Verify only, Verify and connections or Full access) and when it expires (never, 30 days or 90 days). Create makes it and shows the token once. Copy it then: it cannot be read again. The token is also listed below from that moment.
On the phone, open this page through Manage account in Settings. The desktop client can also create tokens.
The List
Section titled “The List”Each row shows the name you gave the token, what it may do (Verify only, Verify and connections or Full access), when it was created, when it was last used and when it expires.
Revoked tokens are not shown.
Revoking a Token
Section titled “Revoking a Token”Revoke asks first, then the token stops working at once. A program that still uses it gets a refusal on its next call. This cannot be undone: to give the program access again, create a new token.
Revoke a token when you stop using the program, or when you are not sure where it has been.
When It Is Not There
Section titled “When It Is Not There”The page and its menu entry appear only when your plan includes API access.
