Workspace Profile

A workspace profile is the name and photo you show inside one organisation. You can keep your account name in your personal context and use a work name and a work photo at a company. You set one for each organisation you are an active member of.

Open your account page in the portal or the desktop client and find Workspace profile. It lists one block for each organisation you are active in. Enter a name, choose a photo, and save. The same settings are in the app under your contexts.

Each field falls back on its own. If you set a workspace name and no photo, people in that organisation see your workspace name with your account photo. Use my account name and Use my account photo remove the workspace value. These controls appear only where a workspace value exists. Your account page itself keeps showing your account name and photo, never a workspace value.

People in that organisation, people who connect with you through its open link, and people who verify a code you made in it. Your personal context is never affected: it always uses your account name and photo, and an organisation cannot change that.

A workspace profile changes how you appear. It does not make you anonymous. Anyone who checks a code you made still sees the same trust score and the same trust figures in every context, and a beacon can show your real email address.

When The Organisation’s Name Shows Instead

Section titled “When The Organisation’s Name Shows Instead”

Where no name is available to show, people see the name of the organisation and no photo. This happens after you leave the organisation, while you are suspended in it, and after an administrator removed your workspace name or photo. Your account name is not shown in its place. The page tells you when an administrator removed a value. You can set a new one at any time.

An administrator can only remove your workspace name or photo. They cannot set or change one. You are told when it happens, and the removal is logged.

A name must be 2 to 100 characters, must not mix scripts, and must not look like the name of the organisation or of a colleague. The refusal is the same short message every time, so it does not tell you which rule applied. Photos must be JPEG, PNG or WebP. You can make 10 changes per hour.
