One-time codes
A one-time code is three words that work once and last one hour. You paste them into any message. The person who gets the message enters the words at verify.trusted.codes and sees that they came from you. The code proves that the message is from you. It proves nothing about the message or a file, and you cannot add a note to it. For a text or a file, make a seal.
tcc otpThe command prints the three words and copies them to the clipboard. You must be
signed in (tcc auth login) and the command needs a connection. You can make 20
codes a day.
Other commands:
tcc otp --wait # keep trying while a new computer is being preparedtcc otp list # your codestcc otp withdraw <id> # withdraw a code that is not used yettcc otp devices # the devices that make your codestcc otp generator # three pairing words for the phone pagetcc otp allow <id> # allow a waiting phone page (deny: tcc otp deny <id>)Only allow a phone page if the number it shows is the same as the number that
tcc otp devices shows.
The first time on a computer, the computer registers itself. The server then needs about 3 minutes before it accepts codes from it. In that time the command says so. Run it again after a few minutes.
To remove a computer, for example one you no longer own, remove its device in the app or in the account portal on the One-time codes page. This also withdraws the open codes of that computer.
