Manage Your Account from the Desktop
Some account settings are kept on the account portal, not in the desktop app: your e-mail addresses, your own AI provider keys, data exports, and which notifications the account receives. The desktop app opens the portal for you, already signed in to the account it uses.
Open the Portal
Section titled “Open the Portal”In Settings, select Manage account, the first row. The portal opens in your browser, on the page for your account. Each of these desktop pages now opens the portal page that holds the setting:
| In the desktop app | Opens on the portal |
|---|---|
| Settings → Email addresses | Email addresses |
| Settings → AI provider keys | API keys |
| Settings → Export your data | Export your data |
| Settings → Notifications | Notifications |
Notifications keeps its top half in the app. Those settings decide what interrupts you on this computer, so they belong to the computer, not to the account.
The portal opens in the context you have active in the app. Switch the context first if you want to see another one.
When It Does Not Open
Section titled “When It Does Not Open”- Offline. The row is greyed out and says so. It works again when the computer is online.
- Session ended. Sign in to the desktop app again, then select the row again.
- Account on its own server. An account that lives on an organisation’s own server keeps these settings in the desktop app. There is no Manage account row, and the pages above stay in the app.
The link the app opens works once and for 60 seconds. If the browser shows that the link has expired, select the row again.
From the Command Line
Section titled “From the Command Line”tcc account manage # the account pagetcc account manage emails # a single pageThe command prints a one-time link and works only at a terminal. The link signs
the browser in to your account, so do not share it. The pages are account,
emails, usage, notifications, export, contact, ai-keys,
api-tokens, verification-log and devices.
