Export Your Data

A request for everything Trusted Codes holds about your account, prepared as a file you download from this page.

The page lists eighteen categories, and the list expands so you can read them all: Profile information, Email addresses, Connections, Vaults and access codes, Invitations sent and received, Notifications, Notification preferences, Sessions, Devices, Subscription, Favorites, Tags, Connection tags, Survey responses, Promo codes, Help chat logs, Guest code presets, Connection presets.

Press Request Data Export. The export is prepared in the background. When it is ready the page says so, and you also get a notification.

You do not have to wait on the page. Come back later and the file is in the list.

Finished exports appear under Available Downloads with the date they were made and how long they have left. The remaining time is counted in days, then in hours, and finally reads Expiring soon. Press Download on the row.

A row you have already taken is marked Downloaded. You can take it again until it expires.

Clear all removes every prepared export from the list.

An export is kept for twenty-four hours and then deleted. The page says so: “Your export will be available for download here for 24 hours.”

The file is the whole account in readable form, so a long-lived copy sitting on a server is a risk in itself. Request a new one whenever you need it.

The download happens here, in the browser, while you are signed in. We never email you the file and we never email a link to it.

A link in an email can be forwarded, intercepted or found in a backup, and it would open your entire account to whoever held it.

Export is not part of every account. Where yours does not include it, the Export Data entry is absent from the menu and from the dashboard rather than shown as unavailable.
